This won’t all come from car sales though. Self-driving taxi services will make a lot of revenue. The latter will be big business for the autonomous automotive industry.

Tesla, who are experts in the electric car field, has already released a video of people riding around in a car in autopilot mode. They’re aiming to have a fully autonomous car on the road by 2018.
Driverless cars should actually be safer for passengers and dramatically reduce the number of accidents and the chance of them occurring. This is because it is estimated that over 90% of the current accidents that take place are caused by human error. Driverless cars will be electronically controlled and not require human input.
In the future, the aim is for driverless vehicles to include none of these components, but at the beginning, there may still be an option for a human to drive the car, as well as the vehicle driving itself.
The side overseen by Audi would focus on sporty ventures and included Lamborghini and SEAT. The other side, managed by Volkswagen, included the likes of Bentley, Skoda and Bugatti. They would concentrate on more traditional values.
In 1998, the Volkswagen Group added prestigious car manufacturers Bentley, Lamborghini and Bugatti to their portfolio. It cost them a reported £430 million to obtain Bentley, especially after they had to see off a rival bid from BMW. They would continue to acquire companies as time went on.
Testing on roads in the UK is already underway as vehicle manufacturers, and technology experts look to get to grips with the concept of autonomous vehicles. We may not see fully autonomous cars at the beginning though.
