How to identify a cloned car?
If you are going to buy a used car, you need to be careful not to buy the one that was stolen. Unfortunately, it is not enough to check the plate number at the police station. The stolen car could be cloned, which means that all the documents are copied from an identical car that is perfectly fine.
To avoid buying a clone, you should always check if the car’s Vehicle Identification Number (VIN) on the documents matches the one that’s marked in the various places of the car. You should also look for the signs of the VIN marks being tampered, to make sure that the car is the one that the seller claims it to be. You should be especially wary if the price of the car is way less than the average in the market and if the seller only accepts cash as payment.
