There are no cogs, just two cones and a belt. As the car accelerates, the distance between the two cones widens, and the belt changes position and therefore gear. Superbly smooth gear changes and good fuel economy wise but the engine can be a bit loud at times.
One to drive the car and one to prepare for the gear change. These systems are complex and therefore hard to repair and can be unreliable. They do offer remarkably smooth gear changes though and good fuel economy.
While a traditional gearbox may offer nice and smooth gear changes as well as being reliable and easy to fix when things go wrong, they aren’t the most fuel efficient options on the market. They can be slow to shift gears too.
This is because the weight of the battery can cause the car to be heavier in some cases and they also deliver torque instantly. Hard acceleration or unnecessarily pushing hard into a turn should also be avoided.
If you go to start your vehicle and on cranking the engine, no lights come on in the car at all, this is indicative of a battery problem. This is because all the lights in the vehicle are powered by the battery. A jump start may resolve the issue temporarily, but you may need to […]

Many battery manufacturers claim that their batteries last for five years or more or that they are providing you with a super long life battery. It’s important to get your warranty as most batteries only work efficiently for around three years. Also, the more they’re used, the quicker their life expectancy will reduce.
You need to remember to leave the engine running for around 30 minutes and that it won’t instantly recharge your battery. Too many jump starts in a short period of time indicates a more serious issue and jump starting can actually damage the battery and its components.
The battery wires and terminals can quickly become damaged, broken or even corroded. If you spot the problem early, you may not be forced to shell out for a new battery.
