The fastest car in the world, powered by two jet engines Thrust SSC, is the only vehicle documented so far that reached the velocity higher than the speed of sound. It drove as fast as 1,227.9 km/h (763 mph), which is 1.02 Mach, on 15 October 1997 in the Black Rock Desert, Nevada, USA.
