Combustion engine cars were once regarder as more eco-friendly alternative

It was back in time when horses were heavily polluting the cities with manure. To give you an example, the city of Milwaukee in the USA, with its 350,000 citizens had a horse population of 12,500, which produced about 133 tonnes of manure a day! Cleaning all this was a huge problem and that’s why so many people were trying to find alternatives to horses.

That is why the automobiles seemed a cleaner and even quieter alternative these days. Probably no one could then see the possibility of the insanely increasing number of cars, which eventually turned out very harmful to our environment.
